Scaleforum 2023: 23-24 September
As I'm sure that many of you will have seen from the Summary of the most recent Committee meeting, posted on the Forum, Scaleforum 2023 is go!
With our traditional dates of the last weekend in September, Scaleforum will be on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September 2023.
Same venue, same fantastic finescale modelling. We had such good feedback* about the modern, light and airy facilities for the show this year that we are delighted to be back at Cressex School, High Wycombe for 2023. And with the same caterers, and their now famous "bottomless mug of tea", and delicious cakes.
Details of all the attractions will be posted as they are confirmed. See you there!
Best wishes,
Paul Willis

* yes, there will be better directions for the car parking in 2023.

Excellent!
Here's one of our superb caterers. The caption is "what? They've left an entire cake!"
Just before the Boston Frodsham crew descend from across the way
Best,
paul

They were great fun. And they were aware of the 'Little Shop of Horrors' quote..

It would be nice if someone in the know could give the exact location of this bus stop,
And the walk is quite strenuous.
The stop by the school for return is obvious of course.
I did not manage to find it last year!which runs from close to High Wycombe station

Looks like several bus stops and routes are available - I used Google directions.

The bus stop is stop W in Castle Street, which should be highlighted on the link below.

There’s an app you can download ‘Carousel High Wycombe bus app’ that’ll give you everything you need while you’re in the area.

Thanks for pointing out where the stop is. I've just added some directions to the page. Can someone with local knowledge check them please? I used street view.

Another bus app I find useful is the map facility at https://bustimes.org/
If you bus has GPS it will be tracked and position will show up on the map. Click on any bus stop and up the services pop with a list of stops and maps of the route.
The 32A is approaching Cressex School as I type this:

And now looking at Bustimes.org as per subsequent advice it shows stop S in the High St.

Photographer Wanted!
Just two months to go to Scaleforum!
We are looking for someone to record the show with photographs and, if possible, videos. If you fancy yourself as a David Bailey of the model railway world (that shows my age!), please drop me a line at scaleforum@scalefour.org for more details. Expenses and accommodation provided where necessary and, of course, free bottomless cups of tea!
See you there!
Andrew

Google maps says stop S in the High Street for the No. 32 bus (every 20 mins).
Where to get off?
Do you get off at Turnpike Corner or do you stay on until ASDA?
regards
Alan

Re: Scaleforum 2023: 23-24 September
Scaleforum 2023 takes place in a fortnight's time on Saturday & Sunday 23rd & 24th September at Cressex Community School, Holmers Lane, High Wycombe. HP12 4QA
A great show good show has been put together with a good mix of layout/traders/demonstrators/lectures and the showcase, in fact, there is something for everyone.
The complete show guide is attached for you to peruse and in this month's BRM there is an article on Wheal Elizabeth which will be on display at the show.
Advance tickets are available here: http://www.scalefour.org/scaleforum/tickets.html
We look forward to seeing you at the show. Please bring a friend.
Every member should have had a show guide with the latest edition of Scalefour News, but for thos who have not seen it, it is attached here:

There is a post on RMWeb which details alterations to the bus service to Cressex.

And I have amended the front page on http://www.scaleforum.org to read:
The No. 32 bus service was replaced by the No.2 service in the week before Scaleforum. The No. 2 runs from the bus station so get a bus to there from Castle St (from the railway station cross the main road to the Flint Cottage pub, walk downhill and take the first right into Castle St, the stop is 30 yards on the left).
The most useful part of that is how to get to the Castle St bus stop which caused some confusion last year.

Re: Scaleforum 2023: 23-24 September
.
Announcement on C&L website today:
_____________________________________________________________
C&L at SCALEFOURM 23RD & 24TH September 2023 "Phil's own challenge"
Phil will be setting out his own Scale Four challenge with new demo, this will be alongside the C&L trade stand, this is to test the skills of the builder. No restrictions on board size . The plan is going to be based around different types of point work minimum of three standard turnouts one of which will be curved, plus asymmetric and single or double slip. Chris Challis asked me if I had anything else after showing St Nicholas at the Wells show, well there might be.
If anyone would like to take on the challenge and there are enough takers I will consider offering a suitable prize for the one that meets specification and passes functional tests. I will need to put some rules and requirement together so all are working from the same script.

Sounds like a good opportunity. Thanks, Phil. I hope people will get stuck in and give Phil's challenge a go.
