SCALEFORUM 2022 - TRAVEL M6

Postby SteamAle » Mon Sep 12, 2022 9:45 pm

From a fellow modeller:

I feel that I should let you know this. The M6 was closed last weekend for bridge repairs between Jct33 Galgate and Jct32 M55 Preston, it was shut Southbound only from 9pm on Friday to 6am on Monday. The diversion was along the A6 through Garstang...and there was chaos! 12 hr ques at one point yesterday, or so the press say! The thing is though, the same is planned for the next 3 weekends.

Worth avoiding if at all possible.

That fits in well with the general chaos on the WCML then with no tickets available for the w/e last time I looked.

The chaos of this last weekend has now forced Natioanal Highways to cancel any work for next weekend and they are reviewing the subsequent weekends (i.e. Scaleforum Weekend).

So fingers crossed...

I was.planning to drive down Saturday morning, early doors and come back on Sunday night. New plan to avoid the problem I'm coming down Friday going back Monday. Bring the caravan down and staying in Oxford. Proper pot mess.
