Railways, eh? Who'd have them?

Boston Frodsham all safely loaded in the car (just)!
Ready for the long haul down from East Yorkshire.

Was the car bought to fit the layout or vice verci?

One of the design criteria with the layout was to be able to fit it in the car and save hiring a van. Just about succeeded!

I hope everyone has a good show. This was to have been my first Scaleforum in an 'official' capacity manning the Society Stand but family matters have, unfortunately, put paid to that so hopefully next year...

Just a note to say that some of the Bristol group including myself will not be attending due to catching Covid.
Have a good show.

I promised I’d check parking restrictions at John Lewis.

Unfortunately their signage is not clear and simply refers to use of ANPR to monitor car park usage.

Not sure if that helps anyone very much but look forward to seeing you all over the weekend.

That looks like signalling. Virtue-signalling.
That would be an ecumenical matter.

Hi,

Looking forward to this. For those that use such magic, the what3words for the school are zips.layers.tells !

I also notice that there is a Park and Ride very close to J4 on the M40, with a bus service bringing you close (ish!?!?) to the school.

Hope everyone has a good show. I sadly won’t be able to go this year.

After setting up Friday I started to feel unwell with a cold, I did a covid test when I got home which proved positive so I won’t be there doing a demo this weekend.

Hi david,

So sorry to hear that you're struck with the Plague Of Our Times. I hope that it's not too bad for you, and you're fighting fit again soon.

There have been one or two people during the day asking about the 3D Printing demo. Perhaps something for another show or another year?

All the best for a swift recovery,
Paul

Sorry to let people down and would be up for it another year. Although it just feels like a heavy cold there is no way I would want to infect any visitors or exhibitors during the weekend.

Back Home from my visit today. 3 hours each way from Sheffield.

Really enjoyed myself, every layout magnificent, glad to see a lot of old faces and make some new acquaintance.

Thanks to all involved.

An excellent day out, old friends met, things learnt, superb work admired, plastic abused, ...
Facilities were very good, the spread of things around the building gave a good atmosphere.

Very many thanks to all involved in putting on great show, your hard work is much appreciated.
Regards,

Andrew Nummelin

A most excellent day out indeed and lovely to see many I've not seen in a considerable while. Definitely works as a venue and with plenty of space, instead of being crammed to the gunnels and getting jostled as a result.

I came in from about 3pm onwards. It seemed very quiet to me. Maybe the Sunday will be better from the traders' point of view.

WycRail 2019 was held at the same venue and was a great deal busier all day.
That would be an ecumenical matter.

I was hoping to make the journey but was thwarted by a bad reaction to the jabs I had last Monday. I went for my Moderna Covid booster and was offered the flu jab at the same time, being assured that it was perfectly safe. No idea which one was responsible but by the end of the day I felt like I had been hit by a bus and it hasn't settled down all week. Covid test was negative but we're not out of the woods yet.

Sorry to hear that Roy.

I did have a bit of a natter with Simon at Titfield about your book :-)

Best wishes for a swift recovery to full health,
Paul

I went Saturday and had a great time. Super venue and the catering was really good. Well worth the trip up. Obviously the high light being able to see some old friends that I haven't seen in sometime. I have missed being able to watch some class models working and the exhibition did not disappoint in that element.

Well done the Committee. Great job.

Mike

Well worth the trip from Scotland. I had to miss today unfortunately; I echo Mike's comments above, plus I had really good helpful conversations with various demonstrators and Scalefour gurus. :) :thumb

Great show, excellent venue, inspiring layouts. I really enjoyed the conversations that I had with the many friendly people I spoke to, exhibitors, society officers and visitors. A smashing weekend and well worth the long journey to get there. A big thank you to everyone involved in getting the event together.
David Clift.
