Observant readers will have seen that this years Epsom Show was listed in the last Scalefour News as being held this coming weekend 23rd & 24th April.
Regrettably I have to inform you that the show is cancelled.
The Club made a decision in mid-January not to proceed with a show this year by which time it was too late to pull the entry in the News.
With only three-months to the show date we only had firm commitments that they would attend from layout owners/teams and traders equal to half-show only! Not wishing to degrade the quality of the show we considered down-sizing the show but the balance sheet showed this as not being financially viable. There was also the concern that if we had proceeded with a smaller show many visitors would attend in the expectation of a normal size event only to be rather disappointed, and this it was felt could potentially adversely affect the Clubs reputation.
For these reasons the decision was made not to hold an exhibition this year, and I hope any members who had hoped to attend will understand the circumstances for the cancellation.
