Pendon Views of the Vale Christmas Special

Postby Paul Willis » Wed Dec 15, 2021 7:14 pm

Pendon Museuem has made a Views of the Vale episode widely available as a 2021 'Christmas Special'. It's about Letcombe Valley and is about 10 minutes long. It is available for all to view by following this link:

If you enjoy it and know others that would like the opportunity to watch it too, do please give them the link. It will be on this website until the end of January 2022.

Over the last 18 months volunteers have travelled around the Vale of White Horse filming the buildings modelled at Pendon and have made a series of 10 videos that cover each locality. The films have covered the buildings as they are today, as they were around 1930 (from Pendon's archives) and with images of the models, in many cases from viewpoints not available to a museum visitor.

These videos are available to Friends of Pendon as one of the benefits provided in acknowledgement of their support.

I've been a Friend for a relatively short time, yet I've already experienced the warm welcome given by the museum and its team. If you aren't already, I do encourage you to consider becoming a Friend yourself.

I would echo Paul's comments. The museum is very well worth a visit, and the members will give you a very warm welcome. Pendon is awe inspiring !
