Re: Scaleforum Multi-Venue Event
Manchester - Dean Hall
Just to let people know, I've asked our OO operators if it would be possible to run Dewsbury Midland on Saturday. Dewsbury Midland is, of course, housed upstairs in Dean Hall, and even if it is unable to run visitors will still be able to view it.
A word on the informal demonstrations. Basically, ask and we will tell but since we will be talking all day we will more than likely be 'demonstrating for a good few hours!!!
Looking forward to a great day
Cheers
Tony

Just to expand on Tony's comment, if anyone who is visiting wants to know about anything specific can they let us know in advance so that we can bring the right bits to the meet.

Hi Danny,
No e-mail as yet...but its been less than 48 hours, so given the speed of the internet these days, I'm sure it'll turn up eventually!
We've also just realized we have to drive past the Yorkshire event to get to Manchester...now if we were to set off early enough...
Thanks
Duncan

Just to confirm Dewsbury Midland WILL be in operation in Manchester this Saturday
Duncan - sorry but I've no idea why you haven't received my email, I've sometimes thought that carrier pigeon would be quicker!! However, you will be most welcome.

Re: Scaleforum Multi-Venue Event
A quick word to wish all those organising and participating in the various events this weekend good luck. I hope it all goes well and that attendances make it worthwhile. Many thanks for your hard work in putting something on to provide our members with alternative entertainment to the normal fare of Scaleforum. I know how much effort is involved and I'm sure that those who do attend will appreciate that and have a good day. It goes without saying that I also hope that you have an enjoyable day. Thanks again and good luck for Saturday.
John.

For those of you venturing to Norfolk on Saturday, look out for the signs below when you get to Briston.
The sign below will be at the side of the road, outside the venue.
Apologies for the orientation of the pictures but they will be displayed the right way up on the day.
Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday.
John.

DRAG looks forward to welcoming ticketed visitors to our mini-show on Saturday, and wishes good luck to the other participating groups.
John Farmer had a shakedown on his new layout Parkend Marsh Sidings last weekend. Since then he has been spraying Miracle Grow and there will be more trees and vegetation this Saturday.
Unfortunately Nick Rogers has had to withdraw from his wagon-building demonstration due to a Covid outbreak at the school where he teaches.

Old man Simmonsen is contemplating how the Norfolk air will suit him as he and his friends prepare themselves for a day out at Briston on Saturday.
He and the rest of the team look forward to seeing you, if you can make it!
Good luck to everyone taking part at each of the venues. Enjoy your day!

Re: Scaleforum Multi-Venue Event
Appologies all. Due to my car deciding to start dragging it’s lower engine cover down the M6 I had to spend the afternoon sitting on a grass verge before coming back home. So I won’t be attending the s4 Norfolk event but I hope those that can enjoy themselves.

Due to idiots panic buying petrol I'm not sure whether I will make it now. I have enough to get there but not to get home again.

Re: Scaleforum Multi-Venue Event
Great day in Devon, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves which is the main thing. Thanks to all who helped breaking down and sharing duties in the canteen. Tea and coffee donations totalled £19.40 so I'll be sending a cheque to the Railway Children for £20.
Pictures later, maybe some video tomorrow.

Well done to the DRAG team for a good day today at Holcombe. It was a most enjoyable event, and a great pleasure to meet up with friends from the Medips.

Good to hear that you all had a good day in Devon. Meanwhile in Norfolk, we had quite a good day too. Here's a few photos from around the event.

Re: Scaleforum Multi-Venue Event
Apologies for the feet! I thought I had deleted them. I must have triggered the camera accidentally. These things happen I suppose.
On a happier note, I would like to thank all those who participated in today's event in whatever capacity and an especial thanks to all those who came along to support the event despite the severe fuel shortage in these parts. It was very much appreciated and I hope you all had a good day.

Pleased to have had an enjoyable day out exhibiting Wheal Elizabeth today at the North Norfolk Area Groups mini- show at Briston. The first exhibition under my ownership was an enjoyable experience and the changes seem to be well received. Thanks for all the positive comments for both Andrew’s original work and my recent refreshing of the layout.

A bit misleading Steve, the catering department was kept pretty busy supplying drinks and cakes.
And plenty of visitors were operating and watching Eridge or having a good natter, well worth the 2 hours each way on the train.

Some photos from Devon - firstly, John Farmer's Parkend Marsh Sidings (the Miracle Grow did work!)
The late John Watson's Laxfield, still looking good, with some stock confirming the MSL lasted a few more years - just don't ask about the Crosti 9F
Behind the scenes
