Back in the 90s a number of videos were made of successive Scaleforums. The filming was arranged by the then organising team, led in those days by Mike Peascod and Eddie Bourne. The films, then in VHS format, were made by Tom Loftus of Magic Box Productions and the videos were made available for sale to Society members. Copyright remained with Tom Loftus.
The Society has copies of all of these videos in it's archive, in the care of our Archivist, Rod Cameron and some time ago our copies were converted to DVD format.
Last year I tried to make contact with Tom Loftus to see if he would be willing for the Society to make these films available on YouTube. After a bit of detective work I managed to track Tom down and was happy to give his permission for the films to be made available on-line.
So here is the first: Scaleforum 1996. Enjoy!
The show guide is in Scalefour News 99

I'll second that. The commentary was also interesting and informative.
There's a useful tip when viewing the trackmaking demo. The demonstrator was using a jig for plain track and had soldered a rail onto the jig so that the first rail could accurately be positioned on the sleepers using track gauges.

Re: SCALEFORUM 1996
Again thanks for this. I remember it well! Old friends featured and I've also found me! In a background shot complete with an abundance of ginger hair, large lensed gold rimmed glasses, ginger moustache - and a shirt that I'm sure may well still be in a drawer somewhere.................
