Thanks John for cheering me up there. I feel so much better. LOL. Checked again aren't there five S&D layouts? {Burnham, Cheddar, Flintcombe, New Mere and Radstock}. The annoying thing is I said to the wife a while ago about making it a weekend away, but hey ho.

Yes Burnham was one I would have liked to have seen as I'm planning on doing Eddington Junction as my own layout.

Oh well just have to make to with the photos.

Five S&D layouts in P4.

Edington Junction was there but in 7mm.

Bath Queen Square in 2mm. There were other S&D layouts as well.

Yes I saw the 7mm Eddington Junction at the Chatham show and funny enough one of the guys who runs it I used to build 4mm locos for many years ago.

thanks for the images of New Mere.

All Best

Thanks Terry, looks like the Avon & Somerset Group and friends had better get our thinking caps on :!:

I've just discovered that BBC Radio Somerset were broadcasting live from Railwells on the Saturday.

The program is on the iPlayer, and you can catch it for another 13 days:

Our Chairman was interviewed at the show. If you go to 01:36 on the iPlayer link you can hear his interview.

The radio dude labelled him Chairman, but I think it was President Chris, and not Chairman John who was interviewed :-)

Chris was interviewed at the beginning as organiser of Railwells, John followed along an hour and a half later. Both spoke very well and John did a very good job explaining what we do in sensible terms to a radio audience. It did help having a sympathetic presenter. I pottered about with the whole programme on this morning and not once did I find myself cringing!

Unlike Trainspotting Live, which almost had me hiding behind the sofa in best Dr Who style....

Sorry Steve - I stand corrected. You also know I only listened to the start ;-)

It was actually quite a good magazine programme, and if we lived in that part of the world I would be tuning in regularly. Some half decent music, too!

Hmmmn! All a matter of personal taste of course, but although I thought the interviews were pretty good, the music reminded me why I never listen to the radio. It was a bit of a game trying to find the end of each bit of music and the beginning of the next bit about Railwells.

Overall though it was very good to hear our hobby being taken seriously rather than ridiculed.

All the Best

I've just uploaded the retrospective for the show. It looks like it was a good one!
