Dear All,

The Uckfield Model Railway Club will be presenting the 30th Uckfield Model Railway Exhibition on the 18th & 19th October and will once again be featuring a selection of some of the best quality layouts around. There will be full trade support as well as Demonstration & Engineering stands. Licensed Restaurant within the Civic Centre will be open throughout the weekend.

Uckfield Civic Centre, Civic Approach, Uckfield, East Sussex TN22 1AE - Open 10am till 5pm both days

The show is scheduled to have two P4 layouts: Plumpton Green from Barry Luck and Ravenscroft Sidings from Simon Bendall.

The Wealden Area Group will be assisting with the manning of the demonstration stand.

Other 4mm/ft scale layouts at the show include Portskerra (EM), Herstmonceux (00) and Awngate (00-9). Finescale layouts in other scale/gauge combinations include Arigna Town (Irish Broad Gauge in 7mm/ft scale), Tucking Mill (2mm/ft finescale) and Wenfordbridge Goods Depot (2mm/ft finescale).

As mentioned in the exhibition diary in the current issue of Scalefour News, the forthcoming Uckfield show will feature two P4 layouts. One of these will be Plumpton Green, last seen at our AGM but the other one will be Ravenscroft Sidings and not Elcot Road as listed. Mr Secretary Ainsworth, compilier of said diary is even now writing out 100 lines "I must get the diary entries in the News correct." :)

Plumpton Green is Barry Luck's new layout featuring the LBSC in all its glory c 1910 and based on Plumpton in East Sussex with a few tweaks.

In contrast to sunny Sussex, Ravenscroft Sidings, which was build by my son, with a bit of help from me, features a steelworks in Teesside and has not been seen as far south as Sussex before. You can see pictures of it at
