Scaleforum 2013 Retrospective

I have the pleasure of publishing the retrospective for Scaleforum 2013:

www.scalefour.org/scaleforum/2013

It's a big one, and I have had to limit the number of captions I wrote in order to complete the task before we all forgot the show. I was blessed with many great photographs, and I am particularly pleased to have a section from the Friday setup before the show opened on Saturday.

My thanks to David Brandreth, Philip Hall and Rod Cameron for their superb photos.

You might want to plan on visiting this several times - there are around 300 photos in all.

I did endeavour to caption the competition and display case photos, but unfortunately three in particular eluded me:

I have some information about who won what (I'll update the relevant sections of the website soon), but I don't have enough info to distinguish who is captured, winning what, in each of these. Any pointers welcomed!

With apologies to those of you looking at this just before I posted this reply. I spotted a spelling error just before I got the first email about it, and then managed to correct it by deleting the whole retrospective and re-uploading.

Not smooth, so you may have enjoyed both a spelling error and some 'forbidden'/'page not found' errors. They should both have passed now.

Just amazing it is lovely to see the photos of what went on at scalefourum last year. I am also quite surprised by the number of Aussies that have made it into the photos, thank fully no one managed to get me in 2011! ;) from this distance it isa. Credit to the society that the photographers and john can create such a fantastic few pages for every one to see not just those that made it to the weekend.

We'll done.

:D I wonder when I will make it again all the way to scalefourum... Never know it could be an '0 birthday soon.

Good job John, and I'm pleased that Russ and I managed to pull our stomachs in just a little when Philip sneaked up on us!

Watch out next year, I may have to invest in even quieter shoes. Or maybe you saw the lime green camera coming...

And I've now done that, so if you have a browse of the 'historic aspects' of the club, you'll find the competition pages freshly updated:

www.scalefour.org/history/history.html

And I've also refreshed the captions in the competitions & display case gallery of the retrospective. All the models now have their creators credited, and all the competition winners are identified!

I have to say John, you've done a great job with this. Really gives a flavour of, what for me, was the best show we've ever had. Nice one, long may it continue.

That is a shame. I don't think we've ever achieved 100% coverage of the interesting things to see.

Unfortunately not. :( It seems that of the several hundred pictures that our hard working photographers took that got missed -or at least there is nothing on the two CDs of pictures that I have. Sorry about that. The best we can offer is picture 19 in the Around the Show section which shows the Risbourough club test track and it looks like Mr Bigcheeseplant as well. :)

Ouch !!! The close up of the station sign on my layout West End is a bit cruel.

Lovely set of pictures though. Any chance I can get some high res copies of my layout?

Hi Chris,

I have the full set of pictures in high-res form in the Society library used for advertisements.

I'll burn a CD for you and pop it in the post.
