This weekend is the Workington Show. It's a little out of the way but there will be an absolute gem of a P4 layout there - Bob Heslington's Garrigill. This is a model of the S&D - the original S&D in some proper Pennine hills, that is, not that new-fangled affair in the Mendips. See http://www.solrail.co.uk/exhibition.html
It features mostly scratch-built stock, including some lovely long-boiler locos, and I am going to have the great pleasure of operating it tomorrow. If you are having a long weekend in the Lake District, do make a diversion to the cost to say hello.
