Oh, I *like* Horsley Bank
That's another layout that I can stand in front of for hours and hours just absorbing the details and the atmosphere...

Re: Railex 2012
We were hoping for the new access road to the Stadium to be open, although this will not now happen to July so access this year will be as previous years via Harvey Road, although we recommend that visitors park in Friarscroft car park behind Morrisons and take our vintage routemaster to Railex that will depart from the railway station car park.
Also those who like a more relaxed show come along on the Sunday, As in previous years tickets can be purchaced from 9am both days and the cafe will open for those who wish to have a breakfast before the show opens.

Re: Railex 2012 26 & 27 May
We had a meeting with the stadium a few days ago, although the new access road is finished it will not be open until July, so access to the stadium will still be via Harvey Road.
We do recommend those people coming by car to park in the long stay Friarscroft car park to the rear of Morrisons and and catch our free Routemaster bus to Railex, our bus will depart from the railway station car park. A time table for our bus will be posted in the next few days but we will link arrivals and departures with the trains.
As an altenative to our free bus the 300 arriva service bus to High Wycombe that departs the bus station three times an hour, if you alight this bus at Churchill Avenue and walk down the new Stadium approach road it will take no more than 4-5 minutes.

Re: Railex 2012 26 & 27 May
There was some doubt that Exactoscale was going to attend due to Len Newman's health and pulling out of Scalefour North, although I spoke to Andrew Jukes this week and can confirm Exactoscale will be at Railex.
Also Aylesbury High Street(EM) built by Geoff Williams has been aquired by one of our club members who will be bringing a couple of boards along for display, this will be the first time this iconic model has ever been seen in public, having been in built and stored in the loft.

Even though it EM gauge we will have part of Geoff Williams Aylesbury High Street model on displat at Railex this will be the first time it has ever been seen in public, here are some photos I took on my phone at the weekend, the plan is to restore the model and hopefully display it at a few shows, although because it was never designed to be exibited and the station board is seven feet long and weighs a ton any public shows will be very limited!
We will have the station board plus a few other smaller bits and pieces at Railex this this, maybe next year it may be exibited in a complete state.

Went to Railex yesterday and decided to go by train.
Everything worked out fine including the free bus. Without the free bus it would not have been so easy; it's quite a walk from the station.
Is Scalefourm planning on providing a bus service as well?
regards
Alan

Great show, looking forward to taking ‘St Merryn’ next year.
Don’t know what the plans are for Scaleforum but I also went by train yesterday and, as I arrived before the free bus started, caught a public bus from Aylesbury bus station which is only a couple of minutes walk from the railway station. I caught a number 50 to Elm Farm Shops bus stop (£1.60 single and 8 minutes from Aylesbury) and followed the signs to the show entrance. The free bus service stop set down/pick up was at the same location.
On a Saturday there is a regular selection of bus routes to take you to the stadium. Not so many on Sunday. All the details were clear in the ‘By Train’ section on the Railex Exhibition website http://www.railex.org.uk/railex2012v.html

Re: Railex 2012 26 & 27 May
With the free bus only hourly and the trains half hourly I, of course, arrived on the wrong train and would have had a 35 minute wait for the free bus, so just walked, four of us so not walking fast, took under the half hour. one public service bus did pass us after half way so would not have gained much by going to find it. Different had it been raining of course.
And yes, a good show, worh the trip.
