Accurascale 31

Postby Hardwicke » Sun Feb 27, 2022 4:24 am

Anyone know if the new Accurascale 31 will be P4 compliant?

On RMWeb, Fran from Accurascale has confirmed EM and P4 wheelsets will be available in a similar manner to the Deltics and Class 37s

From what they've said, everything they do will be simple to convert to P4, the PTA wagons certainly were.

Accurascale have for several years been in touch with the Society about making their models easy to convert to P4 standards and members of the committee have provided the necessary assistance and advice.

Thanks,
I guessed as much but unlike earlier models it didn't specify.

Sorry to pick up an old thread - do I infer from this that when purchasing an Accurascale loco direct, it can be mentioned you want EM or P4 and they either change the wheels or provide an alternative set (understandably at an additional cost)? Or is it simply that the models are designed so the wheelsets can be removed and replace with alternative providers?

I was going to email Accurascale about this the other day but haven't got round to it yet, and browsing through the forum I came across this thread!

Richie

They offer an additional set of wheelsets for either P4 or EM which are available separately for the owner to fit. The set for the Deltic/37 are £24.95.

Presumably correctly sized wheels for the 31 will also be available in due course.

For my Deltic I have pre-ordered a set of P4 wheels, and they will be shipped with the locomotive. Can’t get much more convenient

I will expect the same with the Class 37 and Class 31 I have ordered, and paying for in installments
