During a rare quiet five minutes at Scaleforum I was chatting with my partner in crime Richard Lane at his lighting demo when Mike Edge came by and pointed at Richard's Oxford Rail Janus saying "I now do a chassis kit for that engine".
Here is Mikes flyer on the said chassis kit.
Although he is demonstrating at Warley the rules prevent him from making any sales, however he may be able to hand over a brown paper package if already paid for.

PS £1.50 postage for mail order.
PPS The builders plates should read Yorkshire and BTH (Not AEI) plates.

Interesting. I have been told that Januses (Jani?) can be obtained for under £50 if you shop around. A 7mm narrow gauge modeller could well take the chassis from you for a good price so the whole loco could be quite economical.
I won't go into the errors on the Oxford body moulding that were pointed out to me over the weekend by someone who has intimate knowledge of the class.....................................

Hattons in their sale are offering the BP Janus in pale blue for £49 plus £4 P&P.
There is thread on RMW for the Janus, however another thread with intimate pictures and constructive observations would be welcome.

I'll look up my pictures of Scunthorpe. TATA had a ban on any photo's taken outside the AFRPS site, but TATA don't own the site now....
Ordsall Road (BR(E)), Forge Mill Sidings (BR(M)), Kirkcliffe Coking Plant (BR(E)), Swanage (BR (S)) and Heaby (LMS/MR). Acquired Thorneywood (GNR). Still trying to "Keep the Balance".

Here is a couple of pictures I took of a Janus at Foxfield this year.
Unfortunately I know nothing about the history of this loco.
The Foxfield website does not give any historical information.

The Industrial Diesel RPG is marginally more informative https://idrpg.co.uk/projects.php

I've a nagging suspicion that the Foxfield Janus is not absolutely typical of the whole class - but I could (as usual) be wrong?

Re: Chassis kit for Oxford Rail Janus 0-6-0 diesel shunter.
Having received my chassis kit from ME here is a picture if the etch.
At a glance this is what you get for your money
The kit is designed with EM and P4 spacers.
If you wish to build a 00 version the S4 spacers [*]are 1/2 etched for the narrower gauge.
Correction my S4 spacers are not 1/2 etched for 00, but there is nothing to stop them being reduced in width.
The chassis can be built rigid or beam compensated with all axles moving.
There are 1/2 etched cut-outs around the axles to accommodate High Level horn guides.
The wheels recommended are Gibson 4844P 3ft 8 inch 12 spoke.
The builders plates in the plastic bag on the left are £3.00 extra.
