Shawplan etch for Lima/Hornby Met Cam DMU
Released at Scalefour North over the weekend.
Many of us finescale types feel that the old Lima/Hornby Met Cam DMU has a better overall shape than the more modern Bachmann offering. The main issue with the body of the driving cars is that the front windows are too tall and the destination box is too small. This etch corrects these issues and is the result of a long slow burning project between myself, Simon Harrison and Brian Hanson. Thanks are also due to Eddie Knorn for organising my trip to Grosmont to measure the prototype.
As can be seen you get four window frames for each end which gives you the option to fit the reinforced drivers window frame normally fitted about the time of refurbishment.
Now available from Shawplan at, I think, £7 a pack.
