Over on www.modellersunited.com a number of us are having a discussion regarding the possibility of a new etched brass kit for the Caledonian Railway Jumbo, the standard rather than the 812 Class currently available. Alastair Wright is suggesting that this might be possible if sufficient interest is generated. He also estimates a complete etched kit might cost around £150 with lost wax solid bits. If there is any interest from Society members I am happy to liaise between the two online communities. It might be best to PM me rather than inundate the forum with a flood of responses!

Re: Possible Caledonian Jumbo kit
John,
Are there any time lines in place at the moment for things like deposits etc.? I am interested but have a bit of a queue of kits that needs to be reduced before I can commit to any new items.
Cheers,
David

Re: Possible Caledonian Jumbo kit
The suggestion was that 30 kits would be a suitable target and that once the demand was assessed, then a deposit would be sought. As this is us seeking to define the demand there is no deposit taking at present.
