LNER Trains

Postby andrew jukes » Mon Apr 15, 2013 6:23 pm

I have been discussing with Golden Age Models the details of the running gear of the P4 versions of the LNER trains they are currently producing (the Silver Jubilee, the Coronation/West Riding Limited and the 1938 Flying Scotsman). I am now fully satisfied that they are working to acceptable dimensions for wheel tread profile, wheelset back-to-back and overall bogie width. I will be placing an order myself.

Quentin Poore of Golden Age Models has asked me to help him establish how many P4 bogies/wheelsets to produce as these will done in a single once-only batch. If there are others here who are considering buying any of these trains for P4 (or know of others who may be), then I strongly advise them to contact Golden Age Models now. Just to be clear, I am not working on behalf of Golden Age (though I may benefit if any extra costs for the P4 version are spread over more trains!) - just wouldn't want anyone to make up their mind too late.
