LNWR coaching plum

Postby Andy W » Tue Jun 07, 2011 1:00 pm

On various forums I've seen people suggest using Daewoo Dark Red for LNWR coach plum. However, this seems to be a defunct line. Does anyone know if any of the other Daewoo browns are the same colour re-named?

Thanks

Andy

Andy,

a slightly more involved answer is to spray up a sample of Pheonix Precision LNWR Coach Plum and take that to your local car refinishing paint supplier. They can match your sample and most can supply aerosols. I did the same some years ago and was able to get some cellulose made up for use with an airbrush.

I think that the PP paint is veryclose to the restored carriages at the NRM and Quainton, and is generally regarded as the most accurate colour match available.

I've seen the reference to Daewoo Dark Red on a number of occasions, but how close it is I can't say. "Dark red" implies something like maroon, but I can't find a colour chart for comparison.

Thanks Jol.

I think I'll simply use PP enamel.
