Can anyone shed any light on when the last LNER BG's left revenue service please?
In know the RCTS book from 1978 shows none left and that the 1976 one shows some Thompson's and Gresley's still in use - both steel and wooden ones. I would imagine then the last went in 1977, however there in is the question.
What was left last? Are the any accurate withdrawal dates, coach numbers etc?
I have found an image of a steel panelled D.245 in use in the summer of 1977 but that is all.
Any clues gents?

Re: LNER BG's - Gresley & Thompson
I have a Coaching Stock Pocket Book printed by Platform 5 publications, June 1980 printing, and all LNER stock had been withdrawn with the exception of a solitary observation car. Earlier prints of the book may assist in getting a reasonable cut-off date. Edited by Peter Fox.

There was till a lot of LMS stock around then, BTW.
