LSWR Van

Postby Bulwell Hall » Thu Jan 13, 2011 9:59 am

Good morning all

I thought it might be of interest to show this recently completed model. It is an ex LSWR fitted van from the kit recently released by Martin Finney and built, painted and weathered by myself. I have to say it is a beautifully designed kit and the parts fit together with a precision that is a delight to work with. I have finished it in post-war Southern Railway livery and I think it makes a lovely little model of this very characteristic van. As it has wooden underframing I suspect it never acquired BR livery although some of them apparently survived into the 1950s. For further details of this new kit I would suggest that you visit Martin Finneys website.

And now for the unashamed plug! Due to an enforced change of employment circumstances I am now able to accept commissions for models of this sort. If anyone is interested please contact me and we can discuss the matter. Plug over.

I too have built, but not yet painted, one of these vans and agree wholeheartedly wih Gerry's comments.

It is a brilliant design with superb castings and a joy to build.

Thoroughly recommended.
