Good morning
Does anyone know the best way to convert the Bachmann class 105 to P4.

Re: BACHMANN CLASS 105
To confirm that I have done a conversion on this basis and it is not difficult. About the only think to take care of is the withdrawing of the Bachmann metal wheel from the plastic centre axle muff/gear wheel. Take your time and place it on a vice with the jaws open.

Hi Mark
I think I should get on alright with that.
Kind regards

Did one of these a few weeks ago with the Branchlines wheels - took no more than half an hour, nice and easy.

Anybody know what the cost of the conversion kit is for the Cravens? Best I can find is a blog entry from 2008 that says the 108 conversion kit (which I assume is the same) was £30 back then.

Hello WaveyDavey
I bought a set at Aylesbury and it was £33 IIRC. Yes, it is labelled as 105, 108 and I think the Derby's, so same set. I am assuming that it also fits the 101, although Branchlines haven't tested it as such and I was warned not to assume it was the same until I checked and measured.
Do you need to remove and replace the brake hangers for this conversion? I didn't fit mine as I omitted to buy a good B2B gauge (now arrived) so I will find out at the weekend.

I have used this my 101 and can confirm it fits

Ah that's good, Mark.
Do you have to chop the brake hangers off or can you squeeze past them?

Had to chop them off, unfortunately. Which reminds me; I've not got around to refitting them yet.

Thanks Mark.
That seems to be pretty standard for all the conversions. I must admit that I am apprehensive about chopping things about until I'm sure this P4 lark works for me.
