Hi guys,
Has anyone had a look at the new hattons class 66 with a view to converting one to P4? I really fancy doing one but was wondering how big a challenge it would be before i splash out on the goods.....

Can't offer much, except to say that the brakes look like they're already set at P4 width, being at roughly 22mm centres. I can't see anything that would make it any harder to convert than any other diesel - except catching all the bits that fall off it every time you pick the model up....
Actually, one issue occurs to me: the infamous revolving "hubcaps" extend into the bogie to touch the ends of the axles, so would need modifying - that is, if you want to keep this gimmicky and badly-executed feature.

Thanks for the info. I wasnt sure if it was split axle like some of the recent dapol offerings that complicate things a bit.
