When we were told that we were getting new train on the GWR. I think we were going to get something a little more modern. Nice livery though.

Can't quite make out the lower legend on the nameplate. I think this was one of the St Philips Marsh allocation. Note the buckeye coupling for attaching to HST stock in the lowered position.

Seems like almost every pic of that loco has a different name, eg http://railwayherald.com/imagingcentre/view/406291/LC
and when in blue it was "Dusty Millar"

...including a shot carrying nameplates in memory of Neil Morgan who was one of the maintenance staff at Old Oak in my days on FGW. It's a sad fact that the naming of traction after railwaymen (and women) usually happens posthumously. There are two HST power cars named after drivers Brian Cooper and Stan Martin who lost their lives in the Ladbroke Grove and Ufton Nervet accidents.
