Bachmann 08 sound

Postby chris58 » Fri May 01, 2015 11:15 am

Hi all
I' have heard that you can,t get a sound chip into a Bachmann 08 without it filling the cab. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated .

Chris,

If you're prepared to do a bit of hacking around, it's possible.

Take a look at Jim Smith-Wright's article regarding this on his website:

I've done something similar with my Bachmann 08.

Hope that helps.

Best regards,

Evening Matt
I am now chairman of the club. Please take a look at St Neots mrc website. MY own layout SALTFLEET is appearing at scale forum this September. You can see a few photos in the members lounge. Thanks for the tip on the 08. Its a shame you have to hack it about because it is easier to re wheel than hornby,s version.

Hi all
just hard wired Zimo chip from Digitrains with Paul Chetter sounds. Both chip and speaker fitted behind radiator grill . Drilled out exhaust port and it sounds great.Had more trouble removing and re fitting body than the chip.
Regards
Chris
