Accurascale Manor

Postby steve howe » Thu Aug 24, 2023 8:34 am

A Club colleague brought his newly acquired Accurascale Manor down last night. Although in BR livery, I have to say it looked and ran superb. Unfortunately he wouldn't let me take it apart to see how the chassis was constructed.... I suppose its only a matter of time before some brave soul attempts a P4 conversion! :D

If they're anything like the IRM CIE "A" class diesels, they should be straightforward to dismantle. To convert the "A" to 21mm gauge is quite simple, using P4 profile disc wheels on the original axles.
That would be an ecumenical matter.

I'd be interested to see how the chassis is constructed, if its a simple frame/drop-in wheel arrangement I can see a lot of these appearing on P4 layouts in the future!

I think the issue will come down to clearances behind the splashers. There isn't a huge amount of clearance on an etched kit so a bit of grinding may be required!
