Having already progressed a High Level Kits 'Black Hawthorn' chassis, with modified detail overlays, for an otherwise scratchbuilt "Radstock Dazzler" 0-4-0ST, I am wondering if I can similarly use another Chris Gibbon chassis for a similar 0-4-2ST...
Please can somebody confirm the wheelbase of the RSH 14" 0-4-0ST which is in Chris's range - it looks suitably short? I actually need a wb of 5ft 1in (yes, why the 1 inch...?), but 5ft would suit me OK, in the interests of a short cut, at this stage in life!
Only last year I had a cull of much accumulated ephemera - including a series of magazine drawings of industrials, including the RSH I suspect, which I reckoned I would now never need. ........ "Stupid Boy!".
Many thanks,
Steve

Thanks David, much appreciated.
Hmm, five inches over-length for my needs - but easier to shorten than to lengthen! Will have to think it over, but very useful to have the dimension now.
Cheers,
Steve

RT models has some 20mm wheelbase chassis designed for his sentinel kits and one for the Ruston 48.
Robert does sell them separately - the ones for the Sentinels are designed to be compensated and use with the High Level Quadriver 20 gearbox. (They are not listed on the website, but if e-mail Robert directly he is very helpful.)

Thanks Neil - that's an interesting one! I have chatted to Robert at his show stand, but had not fully registered his range of goodies.
I will certainly follow that up as well,
Cheers,
Steve

Ah, thanks Gordon - looks like 5ft 6ins was something of a 'standard' in the Industrials industry for smaller engines.
25A was essentially an 1890s 'new body' on an earlier chassis. I think even Chris's Neilson tanks were 5ft 6ins or more...
CHeers,
