Socket type lamp-irons (eg 19th century GWR)

Postby andrewnummelin » Mon Dec 13, 2021 5:48 pm

I have made a couple of these in the past but they are not fun to do! Does anyone know if there are any commercially available?

The particular challenge at the moment is the combined handrail knob and lamp iron for the top of a smoke box.

The Broad Gauge Society has a set of castings, F120. I haven't used them but they should do the job. I think they sell to non-members at a higher price than to members, but I'm not sure.

Aren't they the same as LNWR ones? Should be available from London Road?

The price shown on BGS website is the non-member price.

Cheers Gents,

Order going in to the BGS for one loco and I'll consult LRM for another (one project is for an ex-GWR loco and another is for an ex-LNWR one).
