LSWR 380 class 4-4-0

I am deeply drawn towards modelling one of these handsome tender engines for my Devon/Cornwall border LSWR branch line project. That's obviously not going to be straight forward, but I'm wondering if it's ever been done before and has there ever been a kit on the market (Keyser perhaps)? Other alternatives could be to adapt from a Radial tank by shortening the rear of the footplate and raising the boiler pitch although there could be some problems with this approach.I'd appreciate any information that could help me on my quest to model a 'steamroller'!

There is ("was" I guess) a Falcon Brass/Jidenco kit. I actually have one still in the "to do" pile - - handsome loco. They pop up on ePay sometimes. Perhaps Dart Castings will consider etching one for you as they now own all that artwork. (Item LK 86 on their list) The Adams fittings and a Finney tender you can likely get from Brassmasters.

The challenge will be the front bogie wheels, which you will likely have to turn - they were the "steamroller" signature feature. They are smallish and don't have any spokes. I thought of modifying some HO scale wagon wheels.

Ben, there are a great number of LSWR Jidenco kits currently for sale by a member of the South Western Circle, sadly not a 380 but there are examples of B4, D15,F9, G6,T1,T3,T6,T9,T14,X2,0273,0298,0339,0415, all with P4 Sharman wheels. If any of these are suitable you are welcome to PM me and I will contact the seller to see if he would be happy for me to pass on a contact for you.
