News has just reached me that Warren Shephard is considering a very limited run of 4mm scale etch packs (which might extend to full kits) for the Hawksworth 15xx, based on a reduction of his 7mm kit.

Needs at least 24 people to make it a go, at an expected price of £80 per etch pack (more if it turns into a full kit, obviously).
That would be an ecumenical matter.

Potentially useful to the industrialists amongst us too. Having a foot in both camps (ie industrials and BR (W) I too could be tempted but I already have to many kits to be able to complete in my lifetime!

Latest from Warren Shephard reads as follows;

"Progress to date, I have redrawn the artwork for 4mm to give 00 and EM scales. The frames will be nickel silver and the bodies brass.
I hope to be able to get a lot of the castings rescaled to 4mm but need to check with the casters that scalding down the thickness will not be compromised.
Will keep you updated when I know more"

No P4 specific spacers, I note.

He certainly seems to be moving fast, although he might yet be delayed by the fact that the etchers are all non-operational due to Covid-19, etc.

If any of you are on Farcebook, you might want to join the game by signing up to the "GWR Modellers" Group, of which Warren is part. Not sure if the link will work, but here's one

Alternatively, see Warren's own website

Apparently as many as 26 of the 7mm kit were completed.

I think we'll be lucky if we reach double figures.

UPDATE: artwork going off to the etchers next week. Looks like there are some etch firms that are still working.
