I'm about the order a PDK D16/3 and the wheels to with it. Can't wait for Ultrascales and can't afford Exactoscales content with Alan Gibsons, so I think I'm after:-
Leading 3'9" 12 spoke - Gibson do GS844C 12 spoke 3'8"
Driving 7' 21 spoke PB - Gibson do GS884E 'claud'
Tender 4'1" - Gibson do GS849 4'1 1/2 12 spoke.
I'll repeat what I did for my J39 and use a Northyard gear box from Branchlines and stick a Mashima and flywheel in the tender.
thoughts? warnings? advise from anyone?
thanks
David Barham

Hi David,
Class D16/3 wheels were:-
Bogie 3'9'' 10 spoke. Gibson do a 3'8'' 10 spoke plain rim.
Driving wheels 7'0'' 20 spoke. Nearest available is the Gibson wheel you quote.
Tender wheels 4'1'' 10 spoke . Gibson do a 3'11'' 10 spoke plain rin.
If you need drawings the Great Eastern Railway Society do a CD of GER loco drawings which includes the D16s. Isinglass also do D16 drawings. I would be interested to know how accurate the PDK D16/3 is.
