New Bachmann D&D 7F

Postby Re6/6 » Fri Dec 17, 2010 1:41 pm

Whilst shopping in Paignton this morning I was walking along the pavement with joyous abandon when I passed the model shop and saw this 7F in the window. Well you know what happened next! Having bought a Gibson kit (just prior to Bachmann's announcement of course) I had vowed not to buy one....well you know 'the hobbyist's' feeble resolve in these matters....But what a thing of beauty it is. This one was the weathered version. It's very light and subtle, a bit different to some of the usual suspects. A clean 'in service' look.

Looks P4able. Note the bent/curved connecting rod and it looks possible to fit two spacers behind the cylinders to push them outwards. Yet to be investigated until I pluck up courage to pull it all apart.

It's certainly a lovely looking bit of work. I'm very impressed to see the first 'R-T-R' Whitakers tablet exchange apparatus!
