Can the Mainline 0-6-0 2251 Class Collett model be converted to P4? It runs superbly in its present 00 gauge and it would be a shame to scrap it.
Ultrascale do a conversion kit for the Bachman model of this loco, can this kit be used? Any thoughts would be appreciated, even negative ones.

If it's the split frame one then not without a lot of work.

If it's the one where the motor is part of the chassis, then it is very difficult to convert. Shown here is a split frame chassis from the 2:6:2 tank similar type.
If it's one of the new ones, it should be fairly simple, with an Ultrascale conversion pack. The tender is difficult with either, could try the Mainly Trains tender chassis.

Thanks Tim. Probably the best solution is to sell the OO loco on ebay, buy a later Bachmann version and use an Ultrascale conversion.
