Masokits instructions

Postby nberrington » Sat Jul 01, 2023 1:17 pm

I recently acquired some Masokits bits off eBay, and they are somewhat in disarray.
I know most of the bits can be assembled by some logical thought, and Mr Clarke doesn’t always have a blow by blow account of how to do things.
My understanding of the underside of rolling stock is also fairly limited.
Thus - is there either a book (sheet) of words for the etch that someone can send me?

The item on question is the etch for :

SR Maunsell 8 Shoe Fitted Brake Gear for wheelbases 9’ 0” to 12’ 0”.

It is tricky to contact Mr Clark from overseas, so help from members would be appreciated!

I too purchased one of these etches with a view to enhancing the brake gear on a Hornby Maunsell cattle wagon. The etch is still in its plastic bag with an identifying slip but no instructions, which leads me to think there may be none, apart from the generic instructions made available by Michael Clarke for his wagon sub-frame kits. If there is a set of instructions specifically addressing the Maunsell brake gear, I'd also be pleased to get my hands on a copy.

Very nice! I didn't know anyone had made an etched kit for the Southern SCV. The instructions look like those which came with Roger Chivers' original range - which I always liked a lot: I have a completed Van C and Dancehall from that range, and a meat van and Van B from the same source awaiting the Round Tuit.
