Tender chassis
Tender chassis
I have a number of tender kits to be prepared for P4. I have seen references to P4 tender chassis kits fitted to kits. I would like to know who manufactures these, and any comments or observations before I order examples.

Re: Tender chassis
Masokits do a WD tender chassis and Dave Bradwell does a J39 loco and tender chassis intended for the Bachmann bodies, plus some NER tender kits, but I don't know if the chassis are available separately.

Re: Tender chassis
Not sure what you mean, if they are tender kit's (rather than ready to run) isnt all you need is some p4 size frame spacers? Or are you looking for added suspension?
Turkeys in, veg is ready, just waiting the family to turn up.

Re: Tender chassis
Dave Franks does some tender chassis http://www.lanarkshiremodels.com/lanarkshiremodelsandsupplieswebsite_025.htm
Bill Bedford also http://www.mousa.biz/fourmm/loco/frames4.html
Both these are optimised for EM and/or P4
The Comet kits are designed for 00 and need some adaptation for P4
I have used the Bill Bedford 4F tender frames which include CSB and are straightforward to use, I have also used Comet frames successfully for a BR Standard tender and for the WD but they are more work and given Dave Franks now does these I would try them first if doing it again.

Re: Tender chassis
The newer Mousa frames are (mostly) one piece prints like this one for a Fowler tender.

Re: Tender chassis
Many thanks for replying to my query. I should be able to select a chassis kit, build and install under a body as a bolt on unit, as intended.
