Evening all,
I have a Mitchell 45xx, completed some time ago but not run much - until now, and I have discovered a problem with the pony trucks, particularly the front one, not making sufficient contact with the track and tending to either; skate along, or, drop off on curves. I guess the solution has to be some form of springing but I'm not sure how to arrange this without compromising the bogie swing.
Any ideas anyone?

Re: 45xx pony trucks
When Guy Williams built this kit a long time ago he simply added a lump of lead to keep the pony down, as per his usual practice. I'm not sure there is any provision for springing but there certainly was space for a small slug of lead on top of the truck.

Does the truck drop when you lift the engine? Could be the pivot is keeping the truck unloaded.
