I'd be most grateful if you could remind me what type of Romford hand rail knobs I should order for making a CSB chassis.
They come in several sizes - lengths 1.2, 1.6, 2.0 3mm and WD variants.

Ian,
Use the long WD type. Drill the holes in the frames so they are a tight fit on the main diameter of the handrail knob. This enables you to align the holes longitudinally with the holes in the tags on top of your horn blocks. Once you're happy that the spring runs straight through all holes without any side bias when viewed from above you can solder the handrail knob from the outside of the frame and snip/file flush.

The order is as I speak wending its way to 247 Developments. (It would have helped if I had looked more carefully at the 247 web site - they helpfully note "CSB" against the appropriate knobs.
