Klear - application for windows

Hi

Finished the painting and lining of my 8 coaches, so I'm about to add the glazing. I've got Klear - the old formula - to use, but I'm wondering if it's the best to apply from front or inside the coach...any preferences from those that have used it. And...once in, can you then apply the iddly, fiddly transfers to the windows. I've never added this sort of detail to my coaches before, as I though I'd ask the collective for wisdom!

They are looking very nice, now I haven't done this either but I think I would be aiming to add the fiddly transfers to the glazing before the glazing goes in the coach. Perhaps Tony Sissons will be able to advise on the best way to use the Klear.

Nice paint, looking good so far, and sure to get better.
Klear is great stuff for glazing, it is a clear acrylic "Paint" that shrinks slightly as it dries.
You can mix acrylic paints with it to make a wash but mostly it is used neat.
You can spray it directly without thinning. Ammonia will remove it, most modellers use "Windex' or equivalent to do so, if necessary.
One of the best features is that Klear does not fog when using a CA type glue.

What I do is dip my coach glazing in Klear, shake off any big drips, and hang it up to dry. Once dry, most, if not all scratches will have disappeared.
Then glue the glazing into your coach (I use Canopy Glue), add your window transfers etc.
Lastly I will spray the lined and lettered sides with future to give a nice shine (doesn't matter if the glazing is in) with the roof, underframe and ends dullcoated weathered etc...

Mike, Windex is, as you probably guessed, window cleaner. (made by SC Johnson, same folks who make Klear)
