Bow Pen trouble shooting.

Postby nberrington » Sun Jan 03, 2016 7:01 pm

I'm having a new issue with my bow pen. I have a very nice Haff, which has served me well. I have been using Precision (Phoenix) paint with Ronsol lighter fluid, and it seemed to work until recently. Now suddenly paint does not seem to flow readily, and the line becomes either broken or inconsistent thickness.mperhaps the dry Manitoba winter is affecting things?

Leaving the lighter fluid out seems better (? Makes no sense)

Thoughts?

How old is the paint? Are the blades completely clean? A wipe of the blades with a rag dipped in cellulose will sort any paint debris out.

I think I have resolved the issue. I cleaned (and dried) the pen with Testors thinners just before loading up. Seems to slide better without thinning the paint.
