On Tuesday I mentioned that I had problems with the probe on my unit and a couple of people made the suggestion that the "collet" holding the graphite rod looked to be a coax cable unit.
Just the right advice, expenditure yesterday of £1.60 for a aerial plug provided a replacement for the damaged part so I now have no excuse for not getting on with a couple of items on my workbench.

You were robbed
The benefits of an area group even if we are virtual. I wish you success in reducing that rather well matured stack of w.i.p.

Re: Exactoscale resistance soldering unit
I bought an Exactoscale RSU probe in the early days of experimenting with an RSU based on a Maplin 100VA transformer kit (soon replaced by a prototype LRM RSU). I thought the use of a coax plug a poor idea and quite unlike the usual Exactoscale approach to things. I am surprised this one lasted so long.
