The wheels are made up of 8 lamination. 4 for the spoked wheel and 2 each side for the hub. Held together with an oiled 2 mm steel bolt, then plenty of flux and solder. Then put in lathe and turned to size and cleaned up. That tests whether your soldering is any good, so after i'd re-soldered a couple i got to where you can see them.
This is where i'm at now
Ready to attach handrails, locking lever and push bars.

Nice work, look forward to seeing it installed.
Looks a lot quicker than our scratch-built Cowans Sheldon one for Rose Grove!

Re: Weskie's Workbench
Looking good Steve. Some recent work?
Had to pause on the turntable as i hadn't got enough handrails. Quick order off to John Redrup and extras sent back even quicker. Thanks John.
So while waiting i had a rummage on the 'Shelf of shame' and found this:-
And here it is:-
The only alterations I've done is to use Bill Bedford springing units and found some Maygib sprung buffers. Roof still needs attaching and i ought to add some brake linkage. Buffer heads will be fitted after painting, which will have to wait as i have no paint suitable for L&Y coach plum and tan.
Still that means i can get back to the turntable.
Cheers for now.

Wow, that was quick. Very nice, I think that I might have one - but down at the club so inaccessible to me at the moment. Here I have a LRM L&Y horsebox and the required paint. Joint spray session some time?
