Ex-M.R. signalboxes in Western Region ownership

Postby Captain Kernow » Fri Dec 31, 2010 9:01 pm

I'm currently building the signalbox for 'Callow Lane', which is a much-modified and detailed Ratio kit, although around 50% or so will end up being scratchbuilt.

I'm currently pondering over whether the W.R. painted the window frames (sliding and fixed) in cream or white, and was wondering if anyone could help with some observations or definite comments, please.

The time period is 1959 - 1965, and the setting is in North Bristol/South Gloucestershire.

Many thanks.

Thanks Tim, I'm going for white window frames (albeit weathered to a dirty off-white), as I've established that the W.R. did use white on windowframes in the Bristol/Gloucester area.
