S&D 7F on coal train

Postby barrowroad » Sun Aug 07, 2022 2:40 pm

Video shows my P4 converted Bachmann S&D 7F 53809 on a down coal train, a trip freight from Westerleigh Yard, passing under Lawrence Hill road bridge - my latest project on the layout - to pass the shed yard with coaling and ash plants. The train has a brake van at each end and will run into Bristol West Depot for onward movement.

The 7F is due for weathering in the near future.

Excellent work Robin. Still no sign of me and my mates hanging out on the swings but then maybe it is a weekday and we are at school. Does the bus have a destination? No 8 for Warmley, 13 for Briar Way or 14 for New Cheltenham spring to mind.

Roy, I have a visit booked to Modelu in a few weeks so I intend to ask him about a " trainspotters pack" as a future project:-)
The Bristol K6 is marked as a #8 to Kingswood just short of the Warmley destination. I believe there was a 8A as well.

I stand corrected! Of course it was still possible to reach Warmley by train back then on a Bristol - Bath Green Park - Bournemouth service. Usually a BR standard 82xxx tank in lined green with a 3-car Bulleid 59 foot shortie set.
