8 members of the group met for our first session of the new year at the St Mary's church centre in Rye on 20th January.
David Lowe made a brought along 4 whitemetal wagon kits which he offered to members in return for donations to group funds. Being models of late 19th century stock, they were quickly snapped up by Ben and Greg who model that era.
The main topic of conversation for the evening was the planning of a small test track layout, one objective for which, is the gaining of practical experience in all aspects of layout design and build for those who have not yet 'done it all'.
Ben had kindly printed out a Templot track plan for a design previously discussed and this provided the basis for the evenings entertainment as views oscillated between reducing its length and simplifying, to extending it into a full scale exhibition layout. No consensus was reached and the discussion will be resumed at our February meeting.
Thanks as usual to Steve who provided the tea and biscuits.
