This may be a topic that has come up before (forgive me if I'm retreading old ground).
Does anybody know the dimensions of the links in 3-link couplings in the real world - size of each individual link, diameter of the steel rod, that sort of thing? I'm probably using inappropriate terminology but I hope you get the idea. For avoidance of doubt, I'm interested in couplings used of British Railways wagons in the 1950s and 1960s.
Thank you!

3 Link coupling measurements could vary.
A read through this thread may help.

In the meantime there is this. I'm sure I've seen a better drawing on the forum but a quick search turned nothing up.
I do have a BR official drawing but have no means of scanning it at the moment.
Edit: This might be of some help.

Re: 3-link couplings: prototype dimensions
Thanks P. As you might have guessed, the motivation is because I'm thinking of home-making my own links. I see you do that too from the other topic you referenced. I want to do it properly and product scale links. Personally, I don't like over-sized ones. Seems "wrong" when we go to the effort of building the rest of a model to a high scale standard.

Hi,
This is a crop from the RCH drawing RCH1007 of 1923. The RCH drawings can be downloaded in PDF format from this page:
