Slater's 6w Midland brake

Postby Hardwicke » Thu Jun 15, 2023 5:02 pm

A new-ish one. I've had a long term resident, altered as per the MRJ article to both reduce the width, and correct the roof, but one came up cheap on line and I won the auction.. The painting looked atrocious but when it arrived it had been spray painted and only a clumsy attempt at two horizontal yellow lines spoilt it. I can live with the dimensional discrepancies. I found that three handrails were also incorrect; being fixed into the large door handle hole. All the door lock handles were there thankfully. I removed the handrails with some difficulty as they were very well glued in

Taking advantage of the sunshine I painted the beading black today. It looks a little rough but the edges will be lost once I add the cream/yellow/gold with a lining pen. It needs a second coat of black.
