Got around to this. Not free running yet but a little clearance in the right place and it will be like a sewing machine. Then I've got to make it look as shabby as 1975-76 condition.

Re: Dapol Western.
Looks alright.
When I converted mine, I used 17.87 back-to-backs, and I was never quite sure if the stub axles would stay fixed in the gear sleeves. It's gone round and round the North London Group circular test tracks a couple of times now, and seems to have held the back-to-backs.
Just waiting to see if anyone dares to produce a sprung bogie kit for it.

That would be an ecumenical matter.

I had to scrape the plastic back on the middle brake blocks. Until I did that it was actually running with the brakes 'on' and not moving. All fine and smooth now. Dare I recreate the paint finish of 1975/6 ?
