GWR Metro edit 517

Postby Hardwicke » Sat Jul 23, 2022 12:15 pm

A nice Metro I bought some years ago awaiting new pick ups.
Presently it picks up only off the drivers and is intermittent. I'm adding improved ones on all wheels including the trailing ones.

The builder added a form of springing. Requires the second set of brakes adding.

Nice loco, my understanding is the 'Metro' was the 2-4-0 wheel arrangement, but I stand to be corrected, it looks like a '517' to me in later guise, is it the old Mallard kit?

My mistake. My GW knowledge isn't that good. It's a 517. Metros were bigger and had a 'squarer' look.
