The first of the regular Bedford meetings took place at the Brewhouse and Kitchen on 21st March. Eight were present, including a newcomer, Stephen Ellingham. Stephen is considering a new dockyard-themed layout and shared his thought with those present. Mike Morley showed a Comet 14xx chassis which had come to him in an unhappy state but with new compensation beams is looking better already. Chris Foren passed round a promising set of etches for a GW Siphon G newly produced by a member of RMweb. With nothing else to admire the discussion set off on its erratic course, embracing among many other topics the East Anglian show, relative merits of springing and compensation, inaccurate captions for photographs and, briefly and against all odds, the merits of OO!
The next Bedford meeting will be on Wednesday 19th September at the Brewhouse and Kitchen, High Street, Bedford. The next Group meeting will be on Wednesday 18th April at the Engineer, St John's Road, Harpenden, and is one of our quarterly afternoon meetings. It begins nominally at 2 pm after informal lunch at 12.45 for 1 pm.
