Version II? Blimey, I thought I was the only one that couldn't finish anything before I dreamt up a "better" one.
At least the barrels should be recyclable.
The story of my life.........part complete.....dream up a better one..........
But I do think that this is all part of the learning curve.
Having, over the last 50+ years been involved in 3mm : 1', 3.5" gauge, 2" : 1' and many in between scale model making projects which have included ships, live steam traction engines and railways there has always been a cut off point. The closest I got to completing a model project was a 2" : 1' Burrell compound............all complete except for the gears........I did try to cut the gears myself but sort of failed......the alternative was to purchase but in the late '70's it was a cost a bit beyond that of a person with a young family.
As I get further into this project I know that it will be the first thing that I will have 'completed' in the 65 years of my life (a milestone I reached today..... )(And the bonus is that the government will be chucking a bit more disposable railway income my way.... )
So, as to the future.......I'll keep learning and hopefully improve whilst the grim reaper permits........
As to recycling.......err...........all stuff that does not move is Araldited.............
