Re: 4mm Scale Products from Connoisseur Models

Well that didn't take long, Jim has confirmed that the N7 kit is now available to order.

My order is on the way, they won't last long going by the short run of kits he produced a few months back.

Re: Mousa Models LNWR Small Glass Wagon

I received a couple of these wagons as well today and have to say how pleased I was with the quality and definition of the resin castings. I believe the price to be reasonable for a model with sprung buffers, suspension and drawgear. Just need to work out how to get some weight in this minimalist wa...

Re: Servo's for Signals

Megapoints Controllers are another manufacturer for servo controllers, saw these at the last Warley and was particularly impressed. The GF Controls one mentioned by Jol I have seen demonstrated also and has a very good bounce action.

Re: Servo's for Signals

Search for Tower Pro SG90 on Ebay, they can be bought for silly money, cheapest at about £2.19 each.

You will then require a driver/setter board - Merg, Wizard Models and at least 3 other companies do them.

Re: Stores Range: Laser Cut Brook Smith Sleepers

Surely the last thing you want to be doing is sticking chairs down over holes, you need as large a contact area as possible to ensure a secure bond.
If the society cannot provide these we are forced to go to C&L for them?

Puffers - Perseverance/Westward Kits & Components

For info. It's good to see Chris Parrish seems to be back promoting his Perseverance/Wewstward products, his latest advert is in the back of the Feb. BRM. http://www.perseverancekits.co.uk Just hope he re-introduces the GCR/LNER G3 0.4.4 tank loco that appeared under the Persevance Kits brand for wh...

I have read in another post where they are to be sold by Branchlines, but as they have no web site and they are not shown on his blog, a phone call may be the only way to confirm.

Re: Measure distance on Google Maps

Hi Bryan, Thanks for sharing that, a very useful tool. However it does make me realise that Kirkby Stephen East from the west to the east points I had hoped to create at around 60' in 4mm is totally unrealistic. Either some serious shrinking between the station and the junction to the Eden Valley ro...

Re: NER 20t hopper

Doug, The Wizard LS004 etch contains some nice etched NER cast iron style signs, I have tried to find the etches I have, but seem to recall the brake gear is of the standard configuration not the style on the Slaters/ Cooper-craft etch. Bill Bedford does make 3 styles of Brake Van, some while back I...

Re: NER 20t hopper

The ABS wagons are also Dia P7 of 20T capacity. Wizard Models also still make the old D&S kit for the NER Dia P5 10T hopper wagon so a nice varied train of NER hopper wagons can be produced if you include the Geen P4 variant.

Re: NER 20t hopper

Doug, I purchased a number of these etches from Cooper-craft at the Nottingham show earlier this year. They came in Slaters packaging numbered 4045. The etches included do provide the external W Irons as well as an etch for the style of brake gear where the brake lever goes across the end of the wag...

Similar devices are available from the Finney and Smith website, look under tools. The ones there are made from metal and rather than magnets to clamp together have screws and thumbwheels.

LNER 1937 East Anglian Set - 4mm Coach Etches

I am in the process of commissioning a set of etches to build the 1937 East Anglian train. The proposal is to have the coach sides etched only, for the Diagrams D236 to D240. The etch design will be as per the MJT sides with insert lower panels as opposed to the Comet design with the split along the...
